Rhythm and groove are important elements in music, and syncopated rhythm is a main feature in contemporary music. However, most music education put emphasis more on harmony and melody than rhythm. Ear training for rhythm is obviously neglected. “Syncopated Rhythm Trainer" is a great training tool to help musicians and students to get familiar with complicated syncopation in an efficient way. With this app, you can practice in a fun way at anytime and anywhere.

Common rhythm patterns in contemporary music are with 4/4 time. By using different subdivisions, many grooves are formed. Main rhythmic feature for Funk, Latin and R&B is 16th note subdivision. Triplet subdivision is for Swing and Shuffle. 8th note subdivision is for most Rock and Pop. Therefore, in order to play contemporary music, it is essential to get proficient in these syncopated rhythm patterns.

When playing these syncopated rhythm, musicians often have difficulties to exactly feel the beat and time of every subdivision such as 16th note, triplet and 8th note, especially when a subdivision of rest appears, it is very easy to get lost in rhythm and unable to keep grooving.

"Syncopated Rhythm Trainer" iOS app is designed for 4/4 time with 3 types of subdivisions to help musicians to do self rhythm training efficiently. By using this app, musicians can boost their abilities in controlling the syncopated rhythm, especially with subdivisions of rest. With a better rhythmic ability, musicians can easily and freely incorporate syncopated rhythm into their music.
